Why are your prices lower than in U.S.?
The medication in India is less expensive than in U.S. for a number of reasons.
The Indian government regulates what pharmaceutical companies can charge.
Citizens of India need the same medicines which Americans need, and have less income. So it is necessary for prices to be lower here, for the health of the Indian people.
None of the brand gets protection under unique Patent Law in India. Hence equivalent brands are immediately available as soon as new drug is launched and that keeps prices at its lowest.
Additionally, the Indian Rupees conversion rate is very attractive to the U.S. dollar.

Are these the same quality drugs that I can buy at home?
India has exceptionally high standards and a rigorous approval system and manufacturing requirements for pharmaceuticals and controlled by FDA in India.
India exports 65% of bulk drugs and many of the largest US pharmaceutical companies purchase much of their raw material from India - high quality and low costs.
Further world's largest pharmaceutical companies like GSK, Novartis, Aventis, Wyeth-Lederle have already set-up local manufacturing plants in India and these brand name medicines are available to you through OverseasRxDrugs.Com.

Who makes the Indian generic drugs and are they safe?
The generic drugs produced in India are subject to the same stringent approval and regulatory process as brand name drugs and are used by millions on a daily basis. The manufacturers are very large and well respected. They include Cipla, Ranbaxy & Dr.Reddy laboratories. They have plants & products, which are already approved by USFDA and other International agencies. Please refer to Drug Quality section for more details.

Why can I buy generic drugs from India that are not available where I live?
Because of differences in patent law India produces generic versions of brand name drugs that are not available in other countries. These versions are often available in India many years earlier than in other countries and offer substantial savings up to 95 % over foreign brand names.

What is the difference between a Brand name medication and a Generic medication?
A generic drug is a medication for which the original manufacturer has lost patent protection. The generic drug is the exact same medication as the original brand name drug, simply made by another company. Due to strict regulations on the generic drug industry, these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug.

Is it legal to purchase from Overseas Pharmacy?
Is it legal to import generic equivalents of brand name drugs currently under patent from an overseas pharmacy?
The World Trade Organization (WTO) treaties between nations protect patents and trademarks.
India is one of the few nations that selected a protection scheme based upon protection of the manufacturing process (Process Patents) rather than using the more common scheme of protecting the actual product (Product Patents).
As a result, Indian pharmaceutical chemists can legally create, and sell worldwide, drugs that are still patent protected elsewhere if they do so using a process that creates the identical drug through the use of a different process.
Therefore, these drugs can be marketed at prices that reflect their real manufacturing cost, rather than a monopoly price that is set without regard to competition.

But, still...

Even considering the foregoing, how can the drugs available through our online prescription pharmacy be at such a discount?
Well, the real question is 'Why are pharmaceutical companies allowed to charge so much when their cost of ingredients is so low?
What most people are not aware of is the actual cost of the ingredients that make up these pharmaceuticals.
For example, 100 Celebrex 100 mg pills costs the consumer $130.27, but the cost of the ingredients is a mere $0.60!
That is a markup of 21,712%! Or, how about 100 Prozac 20 mg pill? Consumer cost is $247.47.
However, the cost of the actual ingredients is just $0.11! That is a 224,973% markup!

No wonder that the pharmaceutical industry is the most profitable (that's profit, not gross income) industry in the US.
The profit margin of the drug companies, which takes into consideration the substantial costs for research and development of new drugs, is nothing short of scandalous and immoral.
Thus, the question is not 'why can our overseas pharmacy charge so little', it is 'why do they charge so much.
